The blog is up to 254 posts. Some good, some bad, and some ugly.

In addition to the age of posts, reasons for high or low view counts range from how often I post links on external sites, how nonsensical titles and/or previews deter further reading, or how closely post titles match common internet search queries.

The top 5 most viewed posts over the blog lifetime:

  1. Be Careful with Modal Damping
  2. Gimme All You Damping, All Your Mass and Stiffness Too
  3. Torsion with Fiber Sections
  4. Verifying Ain’t Easy
  5. How to Cite OpenSees

The top 5 most viewed posts over the last 365 days:

  1. OpenSees Tcl to Python Converter
  2. Gimme All You Damping, All Your Mass and Stiffness Too
  3. Be Careful with Modal Damping
  4. Failed to Get Compatible …
  5. How to Record Fiber Response

I am surprised to see OpenSees Tcl to Python Converter is the most viewed post in the last 365 days, outperforming the evergreen damping posts. A mighty feat considering the converter post is not yet a year old.

And I am pleasantly surprised to see How to Cite OpenSees in the lifetime top 5. Undoubtedly, “how to cite opensees” is a common internet search query.

As always, you can use the Categories and Tags in the sidebar or bottom of the page to find groups of posts on specific topics.

  5. Don’t Think, Just Throw

Not surprisingly, two of these posts contain clips from Bull Durham.
